Day 1 Perth to Margaret River

Day 3 Margaret River to Perth

Day 4 Perth, Kings Park and Fremantle Sightseeing Day Tour
Perth is one of the most isolated cities in the world, but you wouldn't know it to visit. In recent years, Perth has turned into a vibrant and rapidly growing modern city that is abuzz with activity. Start your tour by sightseeing the historic sites within the CBD, such as the Governor's residence, and Perth Council House, which are opposite to Como The Treasury and Barracks Arch. From the CBD, head to the South Perth foreshore to enjoy sweeping views of the city skyline, stroll on the Matagarup walking Bridge over the Swan River at Perth Stadium. Visit the Perth Mint and perhaps witness a gold pour in the original historic melting house.

Next, head to the 1,000 acre Kings Park for more panoramic views and the chance to explore the world-known botanical gardens and native bushland. Kings Park is home to over 300 native plant varieties and 80 bird species and contains the State War Memorial. Then take a scenic drive through some of Perth's most exclusive suburbs, including Dalkeith and Claremont. Lunch today is at a restaurant in picture-perfect Leighton Beach overlooking the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean. After lunch, cross the Swan River and head into Fremantle. It's a magical place with colonial buildings and anecdotes that transport you to another era. There is a laidback beachy vibe, with a flamboyant, cultural and artistic heart that beats throughout the port city. Visit the historic Round House, the oldest public building in the State of Western Australia. Opened in January 1831, just 18 months after settlement, it was built to hold any person convicted of a crime in the settlement and was used until 1886.

Day 5 All Aboard the Indian Pacific
Your adventure begins in Perth, where you'll gather with fellow travelers for a warm welcome and a celebratory start to your journey. As the Indian Pacific readies to depart, anticipation builds for the days ahead - crossing the country from ocean to ocean, along the world's longest stretch of straight railway track. With the sun dipping low over the west, settle into your cabin, meet new friends in the lounge, and savor your first dinner on board.

Your Platinum Cabin is spacious and private, with a full en suite. This cabin has premium fittings, a shower, vanity with ample cupboard space, mirror, toilet facilities and an in-cabin safe. During the day, the cabin will be configured as a private lounge, with deluxe lounge seating, a table and two ottomans. By night, the cabin converts to a comfortable bedroom, with either a double bed or twin beds. Day 6 Kalgoorlie and Cook
Awaken to see the sunrise across the vast Nullarbor before arriving in Kalgoorlie, Australia's largest outback town. This morning, delve into the region's fascinating past and present with a visit to its gold-rush heritage and the modern-day Super Pit mine. Choose your Off Train Experience to explore Kalgoorlie in your own way, with morning refreshments included.

Reboarding mid-morning for brunch, spend the afternoon at leisure on board. Relax with fine hospitality as the endless sweep of the Nullarbor passes by. Crossing borders and time zones, you'll arrive late evening in the near-ghost town of Cook, South Australia. Once bustling, today only a handful of residents remain, yet its stories endure. Step into this outback outpost to explore the ghost-like town, and as evening falls look skyward—here, under a canopy of stars unspoiled by light, you'll join a guided stargazing experience to spot the Southern Cross and other constellations that shine bright with dazzling clarity. Later, return to the train for a regionally inspired dinner and the gentle rhythm of the rails as you continue eastward.

Day 7 Journey to Adelaide
Spend your final day on the Indian Pacific traveling through the pastoral heart of South Australia, with sweeping views of the Flinders Ranges, Spencer Gulf, and the Adelaide Plains unfolding beyond your window. Day 8 Barossa Valley Day Tour
If you enjoy Australian wines or would like to try some, then a day in the renowned Barossa Valley will be one of the highlights of your visit to South Australia. This morning, begin a personally escorted journey that includes a city orientation before you travel through the scenic Torrens Gorge to the Barossa Valley. If time permits, a stop is made at the Lyndoch bakery to taste the fine German pastries. Travel over the Jacobs Creek for your first tasting of the fine wines at the Peter Lehmann winery. Visit Torbreck wine cellars, a small winery with rustic charm, and also enjoy visits to other small wineries to meet well-known wine identities. Stop for a stroll in the German town of Tanunda with time to discover the small shops—many of which specialize in crafts made by the locals. Before lunch, take the picturesque drive up to Menglers Hill for views over the entire valley. Lunch will be at a restaurant in the Barossa. The next stop may be Henschkes winery in Keyneton or historic Yalumba the biggest family run winery in Australia. If time permits, visit small boutique producers, such as Charles Melton or Turkey Flat. You may also have the option to include formal premium wine tasting at Penfolds in the morning (additional cost). A visit to Maggie Beer Farm shop is a must for food lovers. Alternatively, continue through the picturesque villages of Hills en route to Hahndorf, the German village, where you may taste the fine wines produced by Hahandorf Hill winery. The itinerary may change to accommodate special interests or seasonal highlights. Your private tour includes transportation from your hotel, lunch, wine tasting, entrance fees and private host/guide. Day 9 Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
A short flight takes you to Kangaroo Island for a stay at Southern Ocean Lodge.

Your stay includes transfers from Kingscote Airport, meals, some alcoholic and all non-alcoholic beverages and guided experiences on a share basis with other guests of the lodge. The lodge is able to cater for dietary requirements, but due to the remote location, advance notice is required. It is strongly recommended any additional activity and spa requirements are pre-booked prior to arrival to avoid disappointment.

With selected guided island experiences included in the tariff, all guests enjoy a personalized experiential touring itinerary of the island's unique natural attractions. A range of signature activities are offered daily allowing guests to encounter rich and varied wildlife, indulge in world-class food and wine, and discover the island's unique natural attractions, often with exclusive access and always with a touch of luxe. The Coastal Clifftop Walk is a scenic walk starting on the Lodge's doorstep atop the limestone cliffs of Hanson Bay. This easy walk affords a bird's eye view of thundering waves crashing along the coastline. Stand on top of the cliff with the wind blowing, look out to sea and realize there is nothing but ocean between here and Antarctica. Experience and learn about local flora, fauna and coastline ecosystems. This is a photographer's dream.

Southern Sundownders is an opportunity to soak up the history of the early island settlers at Grassdale, an historic property nearby to the lodge. Watch as local wildlife including shy-by-day kangaroos and wallabies venture out to graze, while sipping premium South Australian beverages and sampling delicious snacks from the lodge's pop up bar, surrounded by the quiet stillness of the bush.

Nocturnal Explorer ventures out after dark for a nocturnal tour to visit the Hanson Bay Sanctuary and discover a world that comes alive while you are usually asleep. Spot koalas at their most active and encounter kangaroos, wallabies and possums up close. Learn about their behaviors whilst searching for other night-loving wildlife including owls, bats and echidnas. Wander under the southern night sky free of the competing lights of cities, towns and pollution, and look out for constellations such as the Southern Cross and the Seven Sisters.

Day 12 Travel to Tasmania via Adelaide
Today you'll take a return flight to Adelaide to travel on to Tasmania where you'll be transferred to your accommodation.

Just along the Hobart waterfront in Tasmania is MACq 01 Hotel, which is a unique hotel designed to tell the story of Hobart's history. The spirit of Tasmania can be found throughout the hotel from the architecture to the decor. The lounge is inspired by Aboriginal culture, while the reception area is reminiscent of discovery and the early settlement of the area. Continuing to the restaurant, the theme shifts to early industry, such as mining and farming. Finally, the bar showcases several moments that shaped Tasmanian culture. Day 13 Tasmanian Seafood Seduction
The journey begins among the fishing boats moored at Constitution Dock in the heart of Hobart's vibrant waterfront. You'll be part of a small group of up to 12 guests that's accompanied by an experienced local guide. As the vessel pulls away from the docks, we leave city life behind. Settle back, relax and admire the surroundings as you cruise down the Derwent River into the sheltered waters of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel that surrounds Bruny Island. This unspoiled paradise is home to Tasmania's finest seafood. Weaving the way along Bruny Island's coast, guests may help the guide to gather oysters, mussels, sea urchins and abalones from the pristine waters. Pull up a crayfish at the southern tip of the island. Or you can catch a fish before dropping anchor in a calm, secluded bay where you can help your guide skillfully prepare and serve the seafood bounty on board the boat.

Nowhere else in the world is there a journey like this—and you can't get Tasmanian seafood any fresher. The catch is part of an extensive lunch of the finest gourmet produce—abalone, crayfish, oysters, sashimi, sea urchin, salmon and mussels, which are accompanied by local wine, beers, ciders and juices. The guides know these waters intimately. They've grown up in this wilderness environment with its picturesque landscapes and beautiful deserted beaches. Led by a knowledgeable guide, visit Saffire's open-range Tasmanian devil enclosure, where you'll meet some of the resident population of Tasmanian devils and observe them as they feed and interact. Hear the story of the crucial effort to find a cure for Tasmanian Devil Facial Tumour Disease -the rare and contagious cancer that is threatening the devil's survival. You'll also have the chance to contribute to Saffire's management and observation of their devil population by participating in a visual health inspection of the devils.

Perhaps paddle in the calm and tranquil waters of Muirs Beach wetland, located directly in front of Saffire Freycinet. Sit-on-top kayaks are available to paddle at your leisure behind the windswept sand dunes amongst coastal bush-land. Or you may like to go fishing off the rocky shoreline in front of Saffire. Flathead, flounder, calamari squid and Australian salmon can be caught in Great Oyster Bay. Four fishing rods are available.
